In the first quarter of 2026, Tianjin's Dongli district reported strong foreign trade performance, with total import and export volume reaching 5.31 billion yuan ($779.54 million), up 7.2 percent year-on-year. This achievement was largely driven by Dongli Customs' Sixteen Measures to Support High-Quality Development of Export-Oriented Economy in Dongli District, which helped reduce cross-border trade costs and address key bottlenecks.

Tianjin Golden Bridge Welding Materials Group, a leading manufacturer, benefited significantly from the new "enterprise self-inspection result recognition model." Previously, customs inspections required on-site visits, which disrupted production. Now, the company can conduct self-inspections, improving both compliance and efficiency.

The measures are tailored to local industry needs, focusing on customs clearance facilitation, tax reductions, business development, market expansion, and targeted services, thereby reducing trade costs.

Tianjin Steel Group, a major steel exporter in Dongli, faced storage and time constraints. Dongli Customs provided a customized solution, expediting inspections and enhancing clearance efficiency by at least seven days.

Furthermore, Dongli Customs helped Tianjin Steel navigate African market standards by creating a service checklist outlining entry requirements, supporting the company's market expansion efforts.

Wu Jian, director of Dongli Customs, emphasized the continued improvement of local customs functions, policy delivery, and service models to support the high-quality development of foreign trade in Dongli district.
