Dongli Economic-Technological Development Zone was recently recognized as a Tianjin municipal-level "zero waste park".
This achievement signifies a new breakthrough for the zone in the path of green development. It also constitutes full recognition of the park's long-standing commitment to environmental protection and active promotion of ecological construction.
A "zero waste park" is the micro-foundation for promoting the construction of a "zero waste city" in Tianjin.
For a long time, Dongli Economic-Technological Development Zone has focused on reducing resource consumption and resource utilization of waste. The zone has promoted building zero waste industrial chains and waste sorting, and has encouraged enterprises to reduce carbon emissions, integrating "zero waste" into all aspects of economic and social development.
Using tools such as enterprise service and information platforms, the zone has encouraged directed utilization of resources among enterprises to construct an industrial symbiotic ecosystem.
Simultaneously, substantial efforts have been made on providing training, guidance and supervision to the enterprises located in the zone. To date, more than 100 companies have actively participated in waste sorting.
The zone has also supported the local companies to optimize their energy structure by building distributed photovoltaic power generation systems, nurturing 12 green factories as a result. The zone has also established a national-level green industrial park, which has helped improve the green manufacturing system in the area.
Dongli Economic-Technological Development Zone intends to continue to explore a green and low-carbon development path by introducing projects for resource recycling, advancing the construction of green factories and green supply chains, promoting digitalization, and further creating a green circular symbiotic system.
