To prevent of accidents in schools, the Dongli Education Bureau has strengthened its efforts against drowning during summer, campus bullying and gas inhalation. Several actions have been taken by the bureau to ensure safety in all schools.
In addition to formulating a safe school system, the bureau has also signed a safety responsibility agreement with primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in order to clarify school safety responsibilities of all parties. Furthermore, the government has improved the safety infrastructure construction in schools. It invested about 40 million yuan (about $6 million) to purchase school security management platform services and video monitoring systems for 70 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens. The video monitoring systems in old schools such as Sihezhuang Primary School have been upgraded. The fire department will regularly inspect and maintain fire-prevention facilities of each school.
Moreover, the Education Bureau has carried out a series of educational activities through online live broadcast, lectures and WeChat official account to promote safety. It focuses on the themes of fire protection, new security law, drowning prevention, traffic safety, prevention of network fraud, and prevention of school bullying.
