Dongli district now has four zones, namely the Huaming high-tech zone, the airport economic zone, the Dongli economic development zone and the Dongli Lake science and education tourism resort.
The airport economic zone is the core area of Tianjin’s airport industry. It is located between the central urban area and Tianjin Binhai International Airport, covering an area of 14.18 square kilometers. The economic zone relies on the unique advantages of the airport and the Civil Aviation University of China, focusing on the construction and development of the airport CBD, airport industrial area, aviation service area, technological innovation area and Jinqiao industrial park. The airport economic zone offers aviation training, a high-end hotel, aviation intelligent logistics and many relevant industries, as well as Spring Asia Investments, ECMS Express and other quality airport business enterprises.
The Dongli economic development zone is a key area for intelligent manufacturing in Dongli district. It is a national innovation demonstration zone and a national economic and technical development zone, covering an area of 40 square kilometers. It has formed four leading industries, namely automobiles and accessories, healthcare, new energy and materials, and testing and detection, represented by enterprises such as China Automotive Technology & Research Center Co. Ltd., China National Nuclear Corporation, Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The Huaming high-tech zone is home to technological and innovative resources. It is an important part of Tianjin Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone as well as the national intellectual property pilot park. It is located in Dongli district with an area of 27.3 square kilometers. The high-tech zone focuses on four leading industries - information technology, high-end equipment, new energy vehicles and healthcare. It has attracted a number of quality projects such as the Tianjin Innovation Industrial Park of Beijing Branch CAS, JD.COM Asia No. 1 Logistics Park Project and Tianjin Intelligent and Connected Vehicle Industry Research Institute.
The Dongli Lake science and education tourism resort covers an area of 68.72 square kilometers. It is an important component of the Tianjin Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, a platform that matches Beijing’s resources, a gathering place for Tianjin’s scientific research institutions and a growth pole for scientific and economic development in Dongli district. Its water area covers 8 square kilometers, containing rich geothermal resources. The regional greening rate of the resort stands at 40 percent. It is home to scientific and research institutions, enterprise headquarters and settlement centers. It focuses on the industries of culture, education, tourism and health, striving to build a national-level gathering area for the modern service industry. It has attracted many quality projects, including the State Grid Corporation of China, Tianjin Research Institute for Advanced Equipment, Tsinghua University and China Vanke Co., Ltd.
