The Huzhangzhuang grape planting base is located in the northeast of Dongli District, north of Yongding New River, south of Beitang Sewage River, west of Dongli Lake, east of Yonghe Village, near Yonghe Bridge.
Adjacent to the Dongli Lake Resort Tourist Area, the base is two kilometers away from the OCT theme park Happy Valley Tianjin, 30 kilometers away from the central area of Tianjin, and 15 kilometers away from Binhai International Airport. With the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Expressway and Jinhan Highway passing by the area, the base has convenient transportation.
Covering an area of around 133.33 hectares, the base has cement pavement, water conservancy and electricity infrastructure, and 41 simple cold sheds. Focused on a business model that highlights collaboration between farmers, cooperatives, and markets, the base grows rosé grapes in a standardized way and encourages use of farm manure. It has also built a series of systems for production, packaging, and sales, registered the collective trademark brand Huhangzhuang for its pollution-free products.
In recent years, the improved Dongli Lake area has been devoted to the development of tourism and leisure agriculture. A characteristic tourist route that includes a tour of Dongli Lake and picking grapes at the planting base is taking shape, laying a basic foundation for rural tourism.
The Tianjin Huzhangzhuang Women’s Fruit and Vegetable Planting Professional Cooperative is a professional cooperative established collectively by Huzhangzhuang with all of its members hailing from the village.
The cooperative aims to establish a standardized and large-scale agricultural production system and help farmers increase their incomes. With 101 members, it created long-term jobs for more than 300 women and provided flexible employment for over 700 women in 2019.
