The "Jinxi (Tonight) Dongli Lake" immersive performance program in Tianjin's Dongli district has been revamped, expanding from a half-day to an all-day celebration, featuring over 20 performances and more than 10 interactive activities daily.
Newly unlocked performances, such as welcoming dances, lakeside parades, and qipao (a traditional Chinese dress for women) shows, now kick off the festivities with ceremonial flair. The program also offers intangible cultural heritage craft experiences and auctions throughout the day.
Visitors can engage in activities like idiom games and tongue twisters to earn "money," which they can then use in auctions to buy their favorite products.
The day concludes with a light and shadow show, Son of the Haihe: Remembering Li Shutong, presenting the legendary life of Li Shutong, a renowned artist and educator in modern China born in Tianjin, against the scenic Dongli Lake.
Yue Gang, operations manager, also announced upcoming events, such as a night tour-themed event for Mid-Autumn Festival and a drama series for National Day, that will provide an immersive cultural and technological integration experience.
The immersive "Jinxi Dongli Lake" program fills a gap in Tianjin's lakeside night tourism market, enhancing Dongli's appeal as a cultural and youthful destination.
